Tips for Buying a Cell Phone as a Gift

If you or one of your family members want to buy a great gift, buying a cell phone will be a great choice. There are so many phones out there that you could buy for a present. First you would want to decide which one is a good price for you. Choose one that is not too expensive that you know he/she will lose, and don't choose one that is too cheap which will break easily. Look for a phone that meets his or her needs and is at a good price for there age.

Now that you have an idea of a reasonable price range it is time to chose a service provider. This is a server that gives service to the phone so you can talk. Some service providers are AT&T, Nextel, Verizon, Cingular, Motorola, LG, Sprint, Virgin Mobile, and Boost Mobile. Sprint and Verizon will probably be the best service providers because the have good service plans and you will almost always have a signal when you need it. Their phones are top of the line but yet affordable.

Next is time to choose your plan. This represent how many minutes, money on your phone, and whether you have text messages. Chose a plan based on how much he/she talks on the phone. If he/she doesn't talk on the phone much or forgets their phone at home chose the $19.99 plan or even the $29.99. This will give them about 200-300 minutes and 8 cent a text message. If he/she talks alot the you will probably want to get the $79.99 plan or the $99.99 plane. This will give them unlimited night&weekend minutes, 1000 anytime minutes and Verizon to Verizon. Verizon to Verizon is a plan means you can talk to another verizon phone for free.

Lastly you will want to get everything set up on the phone. Add passwords to your voice mail so that only you are able to check your messages. You can add all of your contacts, pictures, and you can also download some ring tones.

Now that you have all of that in you now want to activate to phone. You can do this by calling the company you bought from and ask them to turn on your cell phone. They will ask for your security pin(this is a 4 to 6 digit number you got when you purchased your phone), you credit card number, and your cell phone number. Once they have all of that they will set you up on your plane you chose and you will have to pay the amount listed. Once that is done you can package it up and make it a great gift.
